JULY 2018

Hi Sheree

Thank you for your email and our holiday.

We had a fantastic break – making it all the more harder to get back into work/school this week!!

Centara Kata Resort Phuket – Well set up rooms with great kitchenette.  We loved the pools and they had the very best buffet breakfast! The only thing I found it a little weird that our daughter (13yrs) had to sign a form on arrival that she was liable for any damages as well as Scott and I.

Elephant Hills, Khao Sok – an amazing experience with the elephants and great to see how this organisation is trying to make positive change in this community.  The trek was drawn out for 3ish hours and we actually only walked 1km.  Amazing rainforest that we would have liked to explore further.  They run a slick operation to process the numbers of tourists.

The Sands Khao Lak by Katathani – An oasis that made us almost forget where we were.  Pools definitely loved by the kids.  Very clean and tidy environment with beautiful apartments.  Food is cost wise on par with NZ here and unfortunately the menu was more western orientated.

A special note about Vanessa from Absolutely Fantastic Holidays who arranged the transfers  (She booked us on both the Phuket Thai Cookery School and John Grays sea canoe (after discussing pending weather with us) – both of which we would strongly recommend).

We had booked directly a Mt Bike trip with a local company.  They had to cancel our trip with no notice.  So we were standing at the Hotel now with nowhere to go.  I called Vanessa on the off chance she could salvage our day so we could she visit waterfalls and the Gibbon Sanctuary.  Literally within 3 minutes she called back and had negotiated a driver for half a day to take us to the places we should have biked to and a visit to the markets.  10 minutes later we were on our way with a great driver!  Incredible service – we would use Vanessa for local recommendations and booking Phuket day trips.

Everything went smoothly and all bookings were great!

Time to save for the next trip, thanks again

Rachel
