OCTOBER 2014

Hi Nirmala,

Thank you – apologies, I haven’t rung you about our wonderful Bali holiday.
We found the Intercontinental Hotel was just the best ever – the service, location, rooms and people were amazing.  So much so we spent a couple of days of lying around the pool then on the beach edge, enjoying the sun and books we were reading (little alone the smoothies). Thank you, they gave us our room with a beach and pool view, we were up on the top floor and found the room superb. We loved the restaurant on the beach, with the tables in the sand – ate there three times – highly recommend the Intercontinental.  Did notice that they are building a shopping centre opposite the hotel which will be perfect when completed.  Found the security entering the hotel was fantastic – with the bombing they put mirrors under every car entering.  Once we walked the beach and were questioned when coming back into the hotel area – does make you feel safe.

We visited Kuta – Seminyak, Denpassar, Legian, Woodward the Monkey Park, Museum, Zoo, many shopping centres and Nusa Dua (twice) by taxi.  The taxis were so cheap with $60 for 8 hours.  Using the same taxi driver, who was great – he showed us all the back streets, a Bali Market, where the Bali Bombing was – the jail (Schapelle Corby) – all so very interesting.

The negative bits of the trip was going through Immigration at Bali – we arrived when another flight was in and queued for one & half hours.  The seating reserved only happened once, we were given other seats – they were on the aisle which is what we wanted anyway. Next time we travel we will certainly do a direct flight and not Virgin Australia.  You were very cramped with my husband’s knees pressing against the back of the chair in front and he is 6 foot tall.  Coming home it took 11 hours with the stopover in Brisbane.

Something you could tell your clients is if they are staying at the Intercontinental there are restaurants along the beach in walking distance – we didn’t find them until the last day. We loved Bali – the atmosphere is fantastic – the motor bikes were a law into themselves, you are a brave person to drive one (no wonder Insurance Companies won’t insure you!)

Thank you Nirmala for once again arranging our holiday – we had an amazing time.
